🌟 [ 44 ]   Greenhead College Young Musician Competition 2023 [ @Greenhead Music ]

Greenhead College is one of the best Sixth Form Colleges in the country. According to government measures of success at A Level, we are one of the top Sixth Form Colleges in the country. The most recent national education tables published in January 2020 include data showing the average A Level result achieved by students and high grades achieved in key academic subjects. Greenhead College is the best performing provider of A Levels in the local area according to these two latest measures and the third best designated Sixth Form in the country. At our recent Ofsted inspection in March 2022, Greenhead was found to be outstanding in all areas and had no areas for improvement., Our Young Musician competition is a new initiative launched by the music department that gives local young musicians (aged 18 or under) the opportunity to perform at the highest level. We had lots of entries from musicians and throughly enjoyed listening through them all. From these entries, we chose a shortlist. These shortlisted candidates have been invited to perform in our gala concert at Slaithwaite Civic Hall in January. Tickets are available from the music department at College - please keep an eye on our social media for more information in the new year. The winning student will then get a prize of £200 and an opportunity to perform a solo with the Holme Valley Orchestra at Holmfirth Picturedrome in the spring.
