Exam #7001 Candidates: While training on the Stairmill on your own to prepare for the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), be sure to follow the instructions in this video. In addition, remember that the FDNY offers both a free CPAT Training Program at the Fire Academy on Randall s Island and Stairmill Training Program at the Fire Academy and at FDNY Headquarters in Brooklyn to assist processing Firefighter Candidates in improving their stair climbing performance. To register for these programs after your list number is called, call FDNY Recruitment at (718) 999-FDNY(3369). When you re completing processing, you can also visit participating New York City Department of Parks and Recreation gyms to practice improving your stair climbing performance.
