There s been speculation that Malaysia s Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has reshuffled his cabinet to keep a key ally on his side. Two UMNO politicians have been promoted Defence chief Ismail Sabri is now a deputy prime minister, and Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein has been appointed Senior Minister. UMNO is the biggest party of the ruling coalition, and the reshuffle comes as it prepares to decide whether to withdraw support for the government. The Prime Minister s Office said the new appointments will allow Perikatan Nasional to better deal with COVID-19.
