According to a CNN report, the nation s largest credit union has the most significant loan approval gap between black and white applicants among the top 50 lenders nationwide. The report reveals that Navy Federal Credit Union approved more than 75% of the White borrowers who applied for a new conventional home purchase mortgage in 2022. The findings revealed the bank, which lends to military service members and veterans, significantly denied African American mortgage applicants more than white applicants. Roland spoke with BSN s Get Wealthy Host, Deborah Owens, and Kenneth Kelly, the CEO of First Independence Bank about the shocking disparity that was exposed at Navy Federal Credit Union.
