I ve been fascinated with the Gibson GA1-RVT circuit for many years and finally decided to build one, incorporating some updates and improvements. Although the amp has only three miniature amplification tubes (and a 5Y3 rectifier), it offers single-ended output as well as grid-bias-modulating tremolo and a tube u0026 transformer-driven spring reverb. In this Part 1 (of 3) Video, we will discuss both the circuit and compound tubes it utilizes, then create a parts list, fabricate a chassis from 16-gauge hot-rolled steel, then machine the chassis and prepare it for painting and final wiring and assembly. Additional topics will include making a 2 Meg AT pot and color-changing LED pilot lights.
