The time allotted to the old Labrador Mukhtar was coming to an end. It thoroughly worked on the once large, beautiful, strong dog, turning him into an old wreck. The dog moved with difficulty around the yard, thoughtfully looking somewhere into the distance with watery eyes. Mukhtar felt that this was the last spring in his life, and he was sad not because his body was tormented by pain, approaching the last hour. No, that was not what worried the old dog at all. Mukhtar could not come to terms with the inevitability of parting with his beloved owner.
