Pairing the fantastic B58 Inline-6 with a strong PHEV system, the 50e is the perfect middle child between the V8 M60 and entry level 40i. +Well it’s an X5, it drive like a BMW, feels like a BMW, and it surely is QUICK.
+With the extended merino leather, driver assistance pro, executive pack and more, it is a luxury machine that offers things like soft close, heated/cooled seats, advanced assisted driving and loads more for tens of thousands less than more expensive competition.
+Top notch build quality.
Lows:
-While a huge fan of iDrive, I simply dislike the climate control aspect; it’s cumbersome.
-The ride, even with the air suspension, leans a tad more on the stiffer side than say a Range Rover Sport; but that translates to a more car-like, sportier driving dynamics.

The X5 is one of if not the top luxury utility vehicles on the market and the 50e, even with over $10k in options, can be called a “value” in this competitive extra premium space. Top notch quality, a solid powertrain, and upscale features won it over for me.
